STEP 3 – EXPERIENCE DAY/DEMO DAY (OPTIONAL)

Experience our learning environment and philosophy in action.

Families interested in learning more about the VLA experience are invited to attend a demo day where they can explore our healing-centered approach, personalized learning environment, emotional wellness practices, and innovative educational model firsthand.

This is a great opportunity to meet the founders, ask questions, and experience the atmosphere we intentionally create for our students.

STEP 4 – SUBMIT AN APPLICATION

If we mutually believe VLA is a strong fit, we’ll invite you to move forward with the application process.

Our team will provide the application link after your family call and support you through each step along the way.

STEP 5 – ENROLLMENT & NEXT STEPS

Once enrollment is confirmed, our team will guide your family through the onboarding process and help prepare your child for a successful start at Visionary Leadership Academy.

Families will receive support with enrollment documents, scheduling, curriculum planning, communication tools, and any next steps needed prior to the student’s first day. Our goal is to ensure every family feels informed, supported, and connected as they begin their journey with VLA.  We believe strong partnerships with families create stronger outcomes for students.

Starting a new school journey is a big step. Below are answers to some of the most common questions we hear. If you don’t see what you’re looking for, please feel free to reach out. We’re happy to talk.

  • VLA may be able to support some students with IEPs or 504 Plans depending on the student’s individual needs, accommodations, and level of support required. Because every child is unique, we review each situation individually to determine whether our learning environment would be an appropriate fit.

    While we strive to provide a supportive and personalized environment for all learners, Visionary Leadership Academy is not a public school and does not provide special education services required under federal law through IDEA or FAPE. Families seeking intensive special education services, therapies, or legally mandated educational supports should carefully discuss their child’s needs with our team during the admissions process.

  • We serve students in grades 5 –12.

  • Our microschool is based in Jacksonville, Florida. Our address is 6320 St. Augustine Rd., Jacksonville, FL 32217

  • VLA is built on a healing-first philosophy. We focus on emotional wellness, trauma-informed care, personalized learning, and leadership development—especially for students who haven’t thrived in traditional school environments.

  • A microschool is a small, student-centered learning community designed to offer flexibility, personalized instruction, and strong relationships. Our model allows us to truly get to know each student and meet their unique needs. VLA maintains a low student-to-staff ratio to ensure that every learner receives the personalized support and attention they deserve.

  • Each day includes morning wellness routines, multiple academic blocks, mindfulness and reflection time, creative expression, and service learning. Fridays are reserved for enrichment, including guest speakers, field experiences, and emerging tech like AI and virtual reality.

  • Families may choose between our multiple flexible pathways including:

    • Thrive Track: 5 Days Per Week

    • Grow Track: 3 Days Per Week

    • LEAP PASS: Renewable 10-Day Flexible Enrollment Option

    • Tutoring & Academic Support

    • Afterschool Services

  • Thanks to Florida’s universal school choice program, many families can use state scholarships to cover most or all tuition. We will help guide families through the process.
